Fun Facts:

When should I schedule my newborn shoot?

I am booking months in advance so you should book at least 2 months BEFORE your baby is due, but if you have a much tighter time frame you're working with, always ask me! I may have something open.

But I don't know when my baby will be born...

That's okay! We will make a tentative date for your photo shoot. This will help me keep in mind that your baby will be born around this time so I can keep a more open schedule. Even if your baby is born super early or super late, just let me know ASAP and I will set up an appointment.

How old should my baby be for their newborn photos?

This is VERY important! Your newborn should be between 5 & 14 days old. I know that sounds like a small and kind of strange window, but babies will become more awake and more alert with each passing day. We want them to be nice and sleepy so I can pose them in those really adorable positions and get the cutest photos possible. Trust me, a 15 day old baby is going to be much more upset with being moved and molded than a 6 day old baby.

Should I bring anything?

It's going to be HOT!

Since baby will be mostly nakey, I keep the room very warm and I even have a spot heater going to keep the baby nice and warm and comfortable. I want to get them as sleepy as possible! This means that you (the adult) are going to SWEAT TO DEATH! I suggest dressing lightly and bringing your favorite cool drink. I will provide waters for any of the adults.

It's a workout!

Mom, if you're hurting from giving birth then please bring another adult with you. Most of the setups are on the floor or are very low. Baby responds best to Mom or Dad's touch so I will ask you to do your best to postion them, under my direction. I will help, of course, but I always want an adult nearby so they can keep the baby's head from falling or from getting hurt (not one baby has gotten hurt, but that's because I keep a parent very close by!). So, there is going to be lots and lots of bending.

You will say "AWWWWW!!" about 100 times!

Your brand new baby is going to yawn or smile in their sleep and you're going to beam with pride and love. Your baby will never be this old again and you're going to treasure these photos of your tiny little human for the rest of your life!

Babies come with a lot of stuff so bring whatever helps you feel more calm. I suggest bringing bottles with milk/formula, pacifiers, diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and a blanket at the very least. I provide headpieces, beanies, wraps, etc. Also, bring anything that is special to you (please let me know ahead of time so I can plan for it). For example, Daddy is a firefighter so you want to have some poses where his helmet is in the photos. Perfect!

Where does the photo shoot take place?

I do Posed newborn photo shoots in my in-home studio in Menifee, and I do Lifestyle newborn shoots in your home.

What if my baby pees/poops/spits up on your stuff?

Don't spend any time worrying about this! Baby's let loose an abundance of bodily fluids and I am prepared. This is also why I charge money; any soiled items just get replaced. EVERY SINGE BABY WHO HAS TAKEN OFF THEIR DIAPER DURING A PHOTO SHOOT WITH ME HAS POOPED, PEED OR SPIT UP... OR ALL THREE!

How long do newborn shoots take?

About 3 hours. It sounds like a long time, but this gives you time to feed/burp/change/soothe Baby, and also to give me time to change my setups.
